Additionally what so many of the "No one's talking on Bluesky" people are actually saying is "I am lost and confused when there's not an algorithm to shove content into my eyeballs with no effort on my part"

So far I've spent approximately 15 out of my 23 years in games working on projects that were cancelled in production or pre-production... It's not much comfort, but at least these live service games at some point 'existed'. At least (in theory!) you get to show the work you did.

Greens deputy leader calls for apology from Starmer over false claims that led to death threats Mothin Ali fears for his life after anti-war protest was wrongly described as being in support of Iranian regime

When the Prime Minister spreads lies about people - there are consequences.

He's made some outrageous smears. It's debasing our politics.

Anything to try to quieten dissent about the US and Israel starting an illegal war.

I think that is the wrong takeaway and based on this thread alone you definitely should run for Congress! 😁

I mean look at who's already in Congress you'd be a massive improvement. πŸ€” This goes for about 50% of humanity... But it still holds true!

There's an almost magical level of incompetence that goes hand in hand with a feeling of entitlement to success and an unshakable belief that no matter what anyone else says they're correct.

Once you've seen it first hand you realise all you can do is run and get a job elsewhere

Show me someone who brags that Claude writes 99% of their work, and I'll show you someone who's job is 99% writing boilerplate.

NHS official pushed to add patient data to Palantir platform whilst also advising company

A lobbyist who worked directly for Peter Mandelson, on the Palantir board, and on the board of *four* NHS trusts.

Lobbying the NHS to hand over even more patient data to Palantir.

This absolutely stinks. Get Palantir out of the NHS. Sign my petition:

To quote Elorm Daniel’s great takedown:

A law that says Linux must perform age verification during account setup sounds reasonable at first… until u realize it completely misunderstands what Linux actually is.

Because who exactly is supposed to verify their age?
The server?
The router?
The fridge?

An upcoming California law requires operating system providers to enforce basic mandatory age verification It's basic, and by the looks of it, near unenforceable.

A new California law says all operating systems, including Linux, need to have some form of ID verification (which they’re calling age verification) at account setup.

This makes absolutely ZERO sense if you have even the most basic understanding of technology

Handouts to oil and gas firms while people face likely bill hikes.

Reckless and irresponsible at a time when we should be doubling down on renewables not cutting tax to fossil fuel fuel giants.

We need a plan to protect people from the coming price shock.

Shabana Mahmood is another MP who thinks she's starring in the Hollywood movie role of a lifetime as best villain. When really she is playing out of touch, illogical and stubborn politician who stars in the first 5 mins and quickly becomes irrelevant as the plot moves on.

This is the point about Labour introducing retrospective changes to the immigration system. They set the precedent for any Govt. to say that they can go back on promises to migrants and people of colour as far back as they want.

Microsoft Microsoft is perhaps the most complicit tech company in Israel’s illegal apartheid regime and ongoing genocide against 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza.

ah well if the windows 12 ai based subsciption rumours are false i guess you'll just need to switch OS for the traditional boycotting a company complicit in genocide reasons

The Guardian. MPs say Starmer's UK-EU reset lacks 'direction, definition and drive'. 4 March.

A report has found that the UK-EU summit last May had β€œsubstantially improved the overall political relationship”, but it concluded the UK β€œlacks clear strategic priorities”. It also welcomed the UK-EU security and defence partnership but urged both sides and individual member states β€œto go further"
