Kult is the only game where I have ever used the x card at the table.

I like its premise but I don't like that it often ends up with some form of non consensual sex or torture porn.

I look forward to a more intimate and literary (but still frightening) take on gnostic horror.

Both in content and in art / layout, there was lots of research into old occult texts, mythology, and psychology - which I appreciate.

Good catch! Kult is one of the main inspirations, even in the name.

Kulthos was born to address similar themes as Kult, but with an original system designed to match and support a strong focus on gnostic horror - with less emphasis on the most shocking elements of the Kult setting.

I only included the first Two generations, but we went all the way to the fifth one over two sessions.

I will recommend the game to students and colleagues who work with mythology and storytelling 🙌🏻

And since I just played one of Murphy's games, I am happy to share this newly launched one - which sounds incredibly intriguing!

We played within a sort of Neverland, where the Crocodile became a creature of power, at times fearful or wise, and Wendy an ageless fae of prodigious memory with a penchant for telling stories.

The main mechanics of the game revolve around the founding myth of a society: players, in turn, can erase, splinter, metamorphize, and propagate the original story, creating ripple effects on their society, which will influence how the myth is remembered and passed down into the new generation.

We played "Mythomorphosis" 2ed by @gordiemurphy.bsky.social - a GMless, myth-building TTRPG to explore how stories evolve over time and generations, influenced by the people who tell them, record them, and adapt them into new forms.

And what a lovely extra from the crowdfunding: "Hungry Out fo Habit", an area control worldbuilding game for 2-6 players with no GM and played with a loop of yarn, where so-called rulers of neighboring kingdoms take turns inventing the world they're trying to control.
