Colonial Spain's Quesada, the "founder" of "Grenada", immediately comes to mind.

And as the Orchana Commune proved *incredibly effective* in terms of armed defence, the empire began... other operations.

In reality, the Emerald Anchor Consortium is a pseudo-military organisation tasked with perpetual infiltration of the mountain range to reclaim it.

They are a collection of ore barons who pursue further enrichment and political power through mining strategic resources across the entire world.

But most critically, a lot of them are aggrieved over their loss of Cogitix mines in the Orchana mountains.

Which gets us to... the Emerald Anchor Consortium.

The Emerald Anchor Consortium is one of the largest mining enterprises *in the world*, founded by the same empire that once controlled the Orchana mountain range.

Then there was, of course, the enslaving empire itself (yet to be designed), who was ruining the entire local for excessive Cogitix mining, as the orichalcum was used to prop up their military strength so that they could bully other neighbours around them.

As a recap from Day 7: Cogitix naturally saps the magical ley lines criss-crossing the mountain range. Because magic hasn't had any presence in the region at all, sudden significant volumes of it would crack the mountains apart.

Which is exactly what happened, and what led to the uprising.

*cracks knuckles* Aight. Day 8 of #Marchistics.

Buckle up. I've mentioned environmental disasters before, and the war that liberated the Orchana Commune from their empire.

But there's also Emerald Anchor Consortium - a colonial mining empire of scum and villainy. 🔽
