A catenulate relative has the same relation to your blood relative as you do to that same blood relative. For example, the half-sibling of your half sibling is your catenulate sibling. Similarly, the cousin of your cousin is your catenulate cousin. From the root, catena, Latin for chain.

Living near so many relatives and near relatives, I use this concept frequently. So glad I finally thought of a word for it. For example, Al Green is my catenulate cousin.
