Learn your local history, thinking about the present and future. Atlases, maps, stories. What do you want, what is missing? Fan folk are already well equipped to do this kind of thinking! Do a fan fiction of the narrative of your town, Evan brainstorms.

Paraphrasing: We need thinkers, dreamers, nerds! That is what we need for every challenge.

Talking about using a Zombie Apocalypse simulation to uncover how people can prepare their community in advance of calamities, forming coalitions in advance, rather than being caught off guard.

Talking about how to get past "amnesia and anaesthesia"--forgetting the past and being unable to take action. Movements start with passionate individuals, with joy and interest and hope rather than fear and cynicism.

Talking right now about what it means for a civic-minded/political event to feel "successful"--what does winning mean? What can community involvement look like and how can people "own" their community?

Bidder contact deadline is tomorrow, April 15th! Bidders, write back to your creators so you can settle on a workable prompt by June 30th. Bidders who can't be reached may forfeit their fanwork.

Hey, remember last year, when we raised a RECORD $67k?

Well. Y'all didn't just break that record - you blew it out of the water.

Every. Single. Org. On our list. Got at least $2500 this year.

THREE individual organizations got over $10k EACH.

And in total, our community raised...

$127,204!!!

The donation form is now closed. If you're still trying to donate, email us asap. We're wrapping up the final, final loose ends and looking forward VERY MUCH to announcing donation totals this weekend.

All donations are due TOMORROW, Friday, March 14th. You can still make a "just because" donation in honor of ROFL, if you want to! Our tumblr has a list of the orgs with the highest and lowest donation totals so far.

High bidder donations are due tomorrow! Reminder emails have been sent to the folks who have not sent us proof of donation.

March 12th is not only the high bidder donation deadline, it is also the deadline to join the Regiment of Fan Laborers. This is a pool of betas, sensitivity readers, etc. who are on hand to help folks as they work on their FTH creations. You can join RFL or donate in support!
