They found a way to combine all the downsides of physical and digital, with none of the benefits of either.

That actually sounds good to me.

Is that the thing to focus on when the chain of command is operating on the belief that they have been chosen to kick off the apocalypse?

It is genuinely terrifying that there is a command structure in place which not only sees nothing wrong with our leader saying god speaks to him, and tells him to cause the end of the world, but thinks that this is good news that needs to be shared to inspire the troops.

The latter group believes that the sun's "chosen people" are meant to hold dominance over all, and that "lesser beings" should serve or be burned away by his fiery gaze.

The most dangerous part is probably that some see this as meaning both are right – the sun is Good, AND favors a "chosen people".

One of the examples of this being dangerous is in the belief in the sun god. To some, he is simply the generic god of goodness, holy light magic, and healing. To others, the sun represents harsh trials, its burning gaze unrelentingly testing the worthy, and punishing the weak.

I don't know about specific beliefs, but there is something I lean into. RAW, a cleric can believe in an ideal, rather than a specific god. In-universe, this means that splinter cults with strong followings can manifest very real miracles. No one living knows for sure which gods are actually real.

Obviously.

I stand by this statement. A tax write-off means you're declaring a creative work to be worthless. If it's worthless, prove it by giving it away for free.

New Mt. Baja is pretty good. Got kind of a mandarin orange flavor to it.

I'm remembering how there was a law proposed that would require a national vote to declare war, and if the vote passed then all those in favor would be drafted. I think you can draw a lot of conclusions from that not passing.

Drip-feeding lore is an art. A good trick is to slip allusion to things into player interactions. Like, Pokemon has moments in the newer games where opponents will respond to certain conditions in battle with a brief snippet of dialog. They could say something like, "You battle just like X does!"

Current challenge for LANCER homebrew is designing the Tchaikovsky, a luxury Artillery mech. The core theme I have in mind is "bombardment", but I still need to find a unique twist on it.

Example: A door with a complex lock isn't difficult. Difficult is opening a door with a complex lock quickly, without raising an alarm, in an unsafe area.

Shout-out to the time that a DM gave my character a "special ability" that was a worse version of something all characters could do by default.

Far, far too many people right now don't understand this. Many users have little to no patience for things that get between them and what they want. The more friction a site/app creates, the more likely that they click away.

My players never met her, but I had a hag planned for an old campaign who would have offered easy solutions to some of the party's goals, for suspiciously reasonable prices. This was before BG3 came out, but same concept. Maybe even less overtly threatening.

I've been levelling a High Elf Mage named Alamlian Starfury. He has an RP profile, and his catchphrase is, "Expect me when you see me."

I'm waiting to see who gets the reference.

To be fair, I assume that a decent number of them were victims of party loyalty, defensive voting, and a mix of propaganda and being outright lied to. And a fair number of them have been getting angry about the lies, lately.
