But Ulysses is also subscription-ware, proprietary and has no Linux edition.

Why not scan those journal pages before shredding them, then later on you can run them through ChataGPT, which is good at recognizing handwriting, and save the result as Markdown. Then pass that to your family.

Thanks for raising awareness about mitex. This Typst package is new to me and a welcome addition to my Typst tool chest.

As Atlassian grew, the bean counters took over the place. The inevitable enshittification followed. It's now all about the bottom line, not all about the users. For other examples see Adobe, Hewlett-Packard and Oracle.

This is a very nice editor for writing and previewing Typst documents. Thanks for sharing this. Installation is easy:
1. flatpak install flathub app.drey.Typewriter
2. Launch Flatseal and allow Typewriter to access all use files
3. Start a new project leveraging the template library
