It is a really great book. Tells his story with an incredible honesty making it difficult to take in at some points. His writing voice has a genuinely moving authenticity. I love the jacket bio that says this is his first book and he does not intend to write another. Understandable and regrettable.

The amazing thing is the need to even say it. The whiff of corruption or of a head turned to address priorities beyond parliament is too strong to ignore.

Why would someone get up early at around 7am on a bleak Tuesday in January, head off to their local swimming pool and then stand waist high in 1m of water near the edge of the pool for nearly 30 minutes? I'm just curious about what motivates people. Nothing to do with having to navigate an obstacle.
