Buzzard this morning on west pond at RSPB Saltholme. I watched it catch and eat a vole and then catch a rabbit.

Go out the VC back door towards the Wildlife Watchpoint. Everything on your right is the Discovery Zone. There's a boardwalk through the reeds and an area of trees including alders which the Siskin and Goldfinch were feeding in. Lots of hawthorns as well for the Redwing, Fieldfare and Blackbirds.

Pink-footed Geese x16 heading south over Seaton Common this morning. Quite low down. One with a silver/grey neck collar but too distant to read. Looked to drop down onto Bran Sands.

They over winter here until about the third week in April. Generally they return during August though one year I recorded one back here in late July.
I'm not sure if they've ever been recorded in their breeding areas wherever that is. I'd guess the Pennines maybe.
Yep. That one is an August 2019 bird.
