How did women in the Middle Ages deal with periods? A painting depicting a woman in a long dress offering a drinking vessel to a man with curly hair. She holds her hand over her abdomen.
Women in the Middle Ages tended to have fewer periods due to the frequency of childbearing.
When they did menstruate, they used scraps of fabric or even (as was recorded in medieval England) a certain kind of absorbent bog moss.

What jobs could women have during the middle ages? Medieval woman in a blue hat feeding pigs.
Most womenβand most menβin #medieval Europe participated in agriculture.
But we also know of women who were writers, artists, and active as tradespeople.

Were medieval women educated? Medieval woman in orange robe teaching a young girl in blue (the young virgin Mary), both with golden halos, holding an open book against a patterned mosaic background.
Yes! At some points in the #MiddleAges, itβs thought that women were more literate than men. Though (like men at the time), only the upper classes.
