Maybe I'm out of pocket but I'm kind of shocked at the turnaround people are giving Marathon considering it's a sham reboot of a dead franchise that got caught plagiarizing an artist for their entire aesthetic to the point where the game couldn't be shown for months.

I can see the argument you're making, but severity is impacted by intent, it's why we distinguish between murder and manslaughter (obviously not saying it's that serious but it's the most readily available example)

Does it not feel at all disingenuous to go from "It was just one kiss" to "It was only about a day" when that day involved an attempted kiss, an attempt at sex, an actual kiss, and spending the night together? Not monstrous, sure but definitely shitty behavior.

And then after she spoke to Becky and realized it counted as sex to her, she happened to run into Dotty, asked if she wanted to do laundry again, and the two went to the laundry room only to find it was full of people. Joyce got the text from her dad about Jocelyne before the room cleared out.

I understand it's not specifically describing it, I was making a point about how they were understating the severity of it. They described an act of necesity, rather than an act of desire.

That was aimed specifically at Jennifer I think, & also was pretty clear deflection from having to actually talk about his feelings about being cheated on, "You don't really care how I'm feeling, you didn't check up on me back then"

See in my head the person stealing the bread was Joyce, but even if it was actually Dotty, she was with Walky. She still had her own loaf of bread, she wasn't starving she just wanted something new. "But I REALLY want it" isn't a great reason for committing theft.

It's NOT like a hungry person stealing bread is the thing. It's someone who's actively eating a loaf of bread seeing another loaf and going "oooh brioche!" And stealing that loaf.

They were also actively trying to engage in mutual masturbation (do "laundry") but literally couldn't because people were in the laundry room. Joyce had JUST realized that doing that fit her definition of sex, and she was trying to do it again behind
