How has your understanding of mission changed after you served as an MV?
Volunteering in mission isn't a transaction, where benefits are rewarded for service. God is already at work in your mission placement. As a volunteer, you're called to accompany the community in their work.

Describe a time when you saw God at work through the relationships you formed:
We arrived at ARI when the students were 5 months into their training. Many bonds had already been forged, which can sometimes feel exclusive. And yet, we felt genuinely welcomed into the community.

Where and how did you serve?
The Asian Rural Institute in Nasushiobara, Japan. ARI is a training center and farm. While the students from around the world learn about leadership, agriculture and community development, volunteers do the support work necessary to run the farm and feed the community.

Historic Ordinations Mark New Chapter for United Methodists in Honduras Historic ordinations in Honduras mark a new chapter for United Methodists, strengthening ministry, leadership, and global mission.

GBGM has sent missionaries and funded the United Methodist Mission in Honduras for over two decades and continues to do so, working closely with Bishop Rubén Sáenz Jr., the presiding bishop in Honduras, and local leaders to further develop the church in Honduras.

Where and how did you serve?
Wesley Primary School in Morogoro, Tanzania. I assisted teachers, primarily helping to improve students’ verbal English. I participated in worship at Morogoro UMC, led by missionaries Pastor Umba and Mrs. Ngoy Kalangwa, and attended their United Women in Faith meetings.
