Private equity ownership of opioid treatment programs has not improved access or decreased deaths, Brown University study finds - The Boston Globe β€œOur findings suggest that we ought to pay more attention to what role investors serve in opioid treatment programs if they're not expanding access and not delivering any tangible public health gains,” lead author Yashaswini Singh said.

Private equity firms have acquired over two-thirds of the US opioid treatment market without improving treatment access, a new study finds. "I think it raises concerns about what purpose, and whose interests, these investments are actually serving,” Professor Professor Yashaswini Singh, PhD says.

Birth rates are falling. But solutions are focused on the wrong thing. It's not rocket science on how to fix it.

Birth rates are falling. But a $5K check doesn't address the top barriers to having children:

βœ…maternity care deserts
βœ…no paid leave
βœ…high maternal mortality rate
βœ…childcare deserts
βœ…high cost of infertility treatment
