Be still.
There are still trees in the field.
There are still stars in the sky.
There are still undiscovered creatures in the oceans.
They are still.
You are still.
In the world carefully curated through social media, it’s easy to focus on the perfect.
But maybe today, I’ll look for the cracks, the clouds, the spilled, the broken.
And there I’ll find beauty.
Out for an evening walk and paused at Dumbarton Church in Georgetown to appreciate the message on their banner.
Then I turned and saw this broken mirror leaning up against a pole. It spoke about how the world seems now.
Here’s to offering radical hope, wherever we are, and for whomever we meet.

Today, Keith and I went to the grocery store in Georgetown and got to see and hug our favorite cashier.
Tonight, at our favorite neighborhood pizza place, we hugged our favorite server goodnight.
Today was a good hugging day.
On mornings like this, it’s a gift to listen to the birds chatting outside the window. I wonder what they’re talking about.
It’s a reminder to pause, turn off everything, and listen.
This would be an amazing addition to Dupont Circle!
