Peter Gray, Nicholas Allen , Mark Carruthers at QUB Seamus Heaney launch of “Late Heaney”
@dedalusdenaries.bsky.social Enjoyed your exposition of “Late Heaney” and looking forward to reading it - the Inst photos were a bonus (haven’t been on the socials much) as was having a chat with Frank Ormsby - safe travels Nick👍

Narrowness of corridors down to post Great War austerity - building was built down to match the (lack of) money available - Big thank you Nick for capturing this before it disappears 👍

Michael Longley taught at Inst ‘68/69 - took us on a walk to Arts Council gallery to see Conor exhibition - all very much against school rules!

The IRFU have had to limit replies on every post, including Edwin Edogbo, due to the blue tick racist filth.
When you look at the account locations — USA, UK, or "proxied" — alongside the Irish sadcases.
Everyone in real life is delighted for Edwin.

Brian, thank you - I’ll be emailing our other local councillors on this - seems a huge absence of consultation with the community and importantly the stakeholders and funders who have literally ploughed hundreds of thousands of pounds into that field.

Brian, really pleased to see the replanting completed at the hillside near the Lyric - good job all round. But alarmed to hear today of BCC plans to sweep away the wild meadows and long term planting project at lower Botanic Gardens to be replaced with plastic pitches.

Thanks Brian - just seemed a lot to be removed in one go - stability of that hillside and houses above might be a concern given the amount of rain that area gets

@briansmyth99.bsky.social Hello Brian, saw BCC crews cutting up trees in stretch of woodland between the car park and the Lyric on Stranmillis Embankment - just wondering if this was Storm Chandra or planned felling ?

I've contacted @deptinfra regarding the need for the newly refurbished cycle lane at Stranmillis to be urgently gritted.
Cyclists shouldn't be an afterthought when it comes to safety on our roads network, especially with poor weather conditions.

Sunset at QUB Belfast
Unusually vivid sunset in Belfast late this afternoon - inspiring if I was a poet, sadly I’m not!

Ken Bloomfield was a crucial advocate for change in NI from within the system. His work after retirement was groundbreaking, especially in relation to victims. Along with Maurice Hayes and George Quigley he was a key public servant enabling NI’s transition in the 1990s.

A political cartoon from 1908 showing hand with a cuff that reads "Republican Party" pouring champagne from a bottle that reads "tariff revision" into a glass held by a hand that reads "protected interests" on its cuff. They appear connected to the same person. Beside this another pair of hands hold an empty glass and the cuff reads "consumer"
Throwback to 1908
