Assuming Trump & Musk ever manage a taxpayer "refund", the obvious question is would any single taxpayer replace lost vital government goods & services? My guess it goes to more social media trash, cheap Chinese knock offs, alcohol & drugs. Meanwhile, fracking, stealing public lands, etc., etc.

What happens when extreme institutional incompetence meets extreme greed? When your agenda is fueled by grievances not yours (but of your own making)? When your religion becomes hate and your leaders are shallow grifters? There will be blood & many unintended consequences.

I've always been skeptical of radical freedom of speech and so-called tolerance philosophies, such as John Stuart Mill's or Libertarian notions. The most rational and noble ideas do not always win out--quite the contrary. Tolerance amonts to complicity with the most violent of our tendencies.

I've always been skeptical of radical free speech arguments for that reason. John Stuart Mill's reasoning, for example, that the best, most ratiional ideologies win out is simply counterfactual.
