only 2 more weeks before we start gaining daylight again

she’s not nice or even really “kind”, but she’s compassionate & feels regret when she hurts others & tries to be better going forward. but she’s mad af, & honestly, it’s the “mad af + deeply compassionate” ppl that can save the world imo. “nice” gets us “reaching across the aisle” & getting boned. 😓

idk! i imagine her annoyance with her books’ fandom probs struck a big nerve, lol. coupled with the fact that her immense privilege from that fandom hasn’t made her happy. but like…that’s such a deeply human thing that i love about the character!

yeah, pre-event is a lot of alcohol, i’d forgotten that. and she’s deeply unhappy.
but post event?
it’s nearly me to a T when the pandemic hit or any time a crisis hits. a lot of “fuck that, i don’t believe you, something feels off, i’ll figure it out myself, i KNOW i’m not wrong on this”

wowww all the hate for Carol (Pluribus) on bsky is cracking me up. so many ppl consider her to be a terrible person, but idt she is? i think she’s prickly & frustrated & impatient & snappish & (now) incredibly wary. but not a terrible person.

the dubious silver lining for this one is that 35°F already feels like “long sleeve t-shirt weather”, so there’s that.

the entire upper half of n. america had some insanely big pressure drops last week. and then after the cold front blew across, the pressure jumped super fast. we went from 29.96 to 30.52 in 14 hours here (crazy!), & then down to 29.88 w/in 20 hrs.
that will fuck w/almost anyone who gets migraines!

normally, going to bed at midnight and getting up at 6am for work doesn’t faze me much, but after this week?

woof. i am zonked and sucking down coffee like i just discovered its magical properties

tbh, it’s how i got my ADHD diagnosis. Went in for depression, got referred to a psychiatrist, he’s like, “is it possible that wanting to be on top of your life & not managing no matter how hard you try could be why you’re feeling depressed?” i was like, “oh. that’s exactly it.” he was like, “Sooo…”

wasn’t even the first time i’ve been to it. but the first time i ended up over the west side bridge & honestly, it was easier to just get into McKees Rocks that way 😂

i don’t have these kinds of weeks often, thank goodness, but they always feel like something weird & unearthly is pulling the strings. and it quietly freaks me out until sth beyond my control shifts. my belief system is pretty pragmatic, as a rule, so whatever it was/n’t, i’m so relieved it’s gone

had 1 of those wks where i felt like i was keeping just 1 step ahead of sth bad—an accident, death, some kind of major fuckup, things of that nature. it was a stressful wk—car broke down on the snow day on a hilly rd, missed a big test b/c of it, work crisis. finally feel a sense of peace again tho!

I was wondering, so i looked last night at NWS data and highs of 40°F and lows of 27°F are what PGH usually gets for the first 2 weeks of Dec, not highs of 29°F and lows of 13°F!

the connection between listening less to music and more to audiobooks is that i actually like and often _need_ silence stretches b/c of daily sensory overload, so my active listening is used for audiobooks)
