I'm reminded of David Johansen pointing out in an interview that many people don't have the luxury of "good taste" - literally because they're worked so hard and kept so miserable they don't have the time, energy, and money to experience enough to develop it.

I have had deep dish once and it was good. I was very surprised to find out mayo is contentious among white people who grew up with it (I don't mean that some people don't like it, I mean _contentious_). But the oatmeal raisin thing is the absolute fucking truth.
