It would make this lovely animation where you raised the enemies sword and counter attacked and was super satisfying!
Later enemies would do it right back though so you would have to do it multiple times resulting in a really impressive (for the time) swordfights.

I loved the hell out of this game! The idea of infinite lives but a 1 hour time limit was pretty rough, but I still prefer it to a lives system. I adored the way this game was animated and felt to play.

It's the mechanics I cannot stand. They feel like any other enemy that I was wiping the floor with then they just set everyones hp to 1 and you lose.
My brain just screams "I can heal from that! It's just Kefka's 'Fallen One' and he was way harder than this!"

I DESPISE the forced losses in FF9. They feel cheap and unearned.
I love the forced losses in Tales Of Symphonia. They feel like you just didn't have a chance and the game even (minorly) acknowledges if you beat them.
It's a tricky thing to do and best avoided IMO if the narrative doesn't need it.

Man, What an opening! For anybody who's not familiar with it, DD is a Eldritch dungeon crawler that focuses more on the physiological and physical toll as well as permadeath. It's absolutely brutal and a hell of a game to complete.

There's nothing in that sentence pointing out how or why it will improve anything.
It just reminds me when big companies kept Fuel prices at a loss until all privately owned stations were forced to close then they rose prices exponentially.

The leak is in the wall like I feared. At least I can finally fix the PVC pipe that houses our fibre optics cable that got installed a few years ago.
The installers refused to get into that crawl space so I had to get under there to feed it through & I broke our drill bit trying to secure the pipe.
