The 2025 List represents the most comprehensive, science-based assessment to date of the minerals our nation depends on.

These resources support industries worth TRILLIONS of dollars, and reducing import reliance is critical to U.S. economic and technological leadership.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Geological Survey is mapping new domestic deposits and advancing mineral science to better understand where and how we can responsibly mine these resources here at home.

In 2024, the U.S. imported 80% of the rare earth elements we used. That's a risk we can't afford.

The 2025 List adds 10 NEW minerals:

• Metallurgical coal

These additions reflect updated science, public input and interagency collaboration.

President Trump is committed to protecting our supply chains, and that starts with partnering with our allies so we’re not dependent on our adversaries!

Just because Congressional Democrats took 35 DAYS off (and counting) doesn’t mean we are!

Unlike Congressional Democrats, the Trump administration stands with small business owners and local communities. The Department of the Interior is doing everything we can to keep parks safe, clean, and open, but Congressional Democrats need to act NOW.

When the gates close, these towns lose income, jobs and stability.

Congressional Democrats aren't just playing politics, they're playing with the livelihoods of hardworking Americans.

Just last year, national park visitors contributed $56 billion to the U.S. economy.

This shutdown doesn't only pause tourism. It also threatens jobs, small businesses and tax revenue that gateway communities rely on for essential services.

States like California, Utah, Arizona and Wyoming—home to Yosemite, Zion, Grand Canyon and Yellowstone—are hit the hardest.

These parks are economic engines for their regions. When they shut down, entire communities suffer.

When parks close, the fallout is immediate: visitors are turned away, hotels sit empty and local businesses lose millions—every single day.

The Department of the Interior is working hard to minimize the damage Congressional Democrats are inflicting on our national parks and gateway communities with this shutdown.

When Congressional Democrats shut down the government, they're shutting off access to America's Balance Sheet! NO business would operate like this!
