Prehistoric remnants from Sardinia: standing stones from 3000 BC and diverse figures and buildings from the Nuragic civilisation.

From standing stones, menhirs, to the nuragic civilisation with so many surprising facets (sophisticatedly constructed towers, sacred wells, large stone figures, intricate bronze figurines): Sardinia is a great place to discover prehistory.

A post-ESITO treat: found this golden pendant in the shape of a chrysalis in the archeological museum of Cagliari, Sardinia. 7th cent BC. Phoenicians liked to decorate themselves with butterfly pupae! 🧪🦋

Lovely decorated cream cake especially made for the social dinner of the symposium. The logo of the symposium was printed on marzipan.

We had a great European Symposium for Insect Taste and Olfaction, ESITO, on Sardinia where I was invited to talk about evolutionary aspects. This was how spiders entered an insect meeting 😉.🕷🧪

I've had a few conversations about people still not enjoying #BlueSky as much as some traditional social media platforms. One tip I have is pin the OnlyPosts feed: you will then see posts from folks you follow, chronologically, with nothing else.

If you are ever close to Tübingen, a great experience is the "Ammonite Pavement" in Ofterdingen. They are huge!
