Cane users: do you get pain in your palm or at the base of your thumb from using the cane? If so, how do you prevent it? I put a lot of weight on my cane, and I can feel it in those places. It's really starting to hurt.

We took down most of the Christmas decorations yesterday. Only the outside lights are left, because it's a bit cold right now. I feel like I should say something about missing them, but really they were up for exactly the right amount of time.

The Professor

Got some good pictures of Gunnar actually looking at the camera. He doesn't actually want to be on the porch right now, but if he's here he's going to sit in a chair like a person.

My brother is lying on the couch with his left leg bent and up against the back of the couch, and his right leg bent and lying on the couch. He has an external fixator on his right foot. It is wrapped in ace bandages. Gunnar (our beagle) is lying between Jac's legs with his head on Jac's knee. The angle makes it look like Gunnar is wrapped in the bandages.

I got a popsocket to see if it would keep me from getting pain in my thumb. It worked a treat for that. However, I feel like a Barbie doll with the phone peg shoved in my molded plastic hand.

Gunnar snores when he sleeps. It's a very cute, precious little noise, but I always wonder about it. I know some breeds, like pugs, have breathing problems. Are beagles one of those breeds? I don't really think so, but I worry.

Last summer my mom & I sorted our ornaments and gave four boxes of them to my nephew & his fiance. We still have enough ornaments left for three trees of this size.

But that's not the good part. Mom was at her bridge game while this was happening. I told her I listed them, but not that the guy was there loading them up as I left to pick her up. I was looking right at her when she noticed they were gone, and her expression was amazing.

We are trying to get more elbow room in the dining room, so I listed a lawyers bookcase on Facebook marketplace for free. The first reply took half an hour. He picked them up an hour later, by which time I had five more replies.

We gave it to a woman who was planning on learning with her daughter. She brought her ex husband to help carry it. He was supposed to bring a friend, but the friend bailed, so he walked up the street and found some random guys who were willing to help.

We got rid of our piano today. I like being The Kind Of Person Who Owns A Piano, and Robert has Feelings about how it mattered so much to his mother that she could afford a piano and lessons for him, but I've played it twice in 25 years and we want more space in the dining room.

NB: calabaza squash is really good, like butternut taken up a notch.

Stuck in the dentist waiting room while my husband takes his turn. The TV 📺 is stuck on HSN, and they are trying to sell the UGLIEST jewelry I have ever seen. What a terrible job to have, modeling a ring that came from the Avon catalog circa 1983, and claiming it's "elegant and sophisticated".
