Left to right on each row: Ivy leaved speedwell, sweet violet, white dead nettle. Groundsel, petty spurge, common sow thistle, gorse. Buttercup, yarrow, dandelion.

A few sprinklings of colour on a very crisp afternoon stroll for #newyearplanthunt and #wildflowerhour. Main surprises were the ivy leaved speedwell and a very bedraggled buttercup. 🌱

My hydrangea appears to be sprouting new shoots... in autumn (in the UK). Anyone else had experience of this? 🌱

It is very much a personal choice. If you get a chance, read or listen to 'Why can't I just enjoy things' by Pierre Novellie. Genuinely funny book about his autism, which includes some thoughtful perspectives on why you should or shouldn't get a diagnosis.

It looks very healthy there though. Maybe deliberately plant a couple next year?

A visit to Ireland delivered far more wildflowers than my scorched patch at home, Red Bartsia, Eyebright, wild Fushias and Sneezewort were some of my favouites as they are unusal for me to find #wildflowerhour #flowers

An outrageously flamboyant Flame lily from the Botanical gardens in Belfast - I'd recommend visiting, beautiful and free

Simple elegant pale yellow sunflower, with a backdrop of hydrangea flowers
