Today's snippets of floral beauty include my first of the year for periwinkle and lesser celendine, Red dead nettle and the promise of bountiful blossom in the offing 🌸 #wildflowerhour 🌱

Our French teacher put Lost Boys on for us when I was in year 8 or 9.
I watched it last year for the first time since and can't help thinking he made a mistake in his choice

Left to right on each row:
Ivy leaved speedwell, sweet violet, white dead nettle.
Groundsel, petty spurge, common sow thistle, gorse.
Buttercup, yarrow, dandelion.

A few sprinklings of colour on a very crisp afternoon stroll for #newyearplanthunt and #wildflowerhour. Main surprises were the ivy leaved speedwell and a very bedraggled buttercup. 🌱

@mooseallain.bsky.social If I recall correctly, you're colourblind and therefore probably can't appreciate the true garishness of these advent calendars, but my boys are loving doing them! Thank you again

Well that is a relief, I was a bit worried it would exhaust itself over autumn and wouldn't come back in the spring.
I shall take cuttings 😊

My hydrangea appears to be sprouting new shoots... in autumn (in the UK). Anyone else had experience of this? 🌱

There's a lot of fungi out in the forest right now. I’ve no idea what any of them are, but they are fascinating to look at #fungi #newforest

It is very much a personal choice. If you get a chance, read or listen to 'Why can't I just enjoy things' by Pierre Novellie. Genuinely funny book about his autism, which includes some thoughtful perspectives on why you should or shouldn't get a diagnosis.

08.09.2025 18:32 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

It looks very healthy there though. Maybe deliberately plant a couple next year?

Well, I'd be very pleased it it turns out to be a sign or message of that nature 😊
