And do not tell people to relax. I was calm. Telling me to relax just distracts from the issue by trying to label me as hysterical or something.

The meme was mocking his gayness, which is by default saying fatness is deserving of mockery.

He was elected by some, not all. We are in no way a monolithic force. We are a bunch of individuals who actively hate each other. His election was more about manipulation of "the people" than about fair elections.

It's unfortunate to see this kind of humor. There are heavy people in the resistance too.

I appreciate this, but whenever I try this pose my breathing becomes difficult. But it does wonders for the back!

Trump-administration officials and MAGA influencers have repeatedly called these activists “violent” and said they are involved in “riots.” But the resistance in Minnesota is largely characterized by a conscious, strategic absence of physical confrontation. Activists have made the decision to emphasize protection, aid, and observation. When matters escalate, it is usually the choice of the federal agents. Of the three homicides in Minneapolis this year, two were committed by federal agents. “There’s been an incredible, incredible response from the community. I’ve seen our neighbors go straight from allies to family—more than family—checking in on each other, offering food and rides for kids and all kinds of support, alerting each other if there’s ICE or any kind of danger,” Malika Dahir, a local activist of Somali descent, told me. If the Minnesota resistance has an overarching ideology, you could call it “neighborism”—a commitment to protecting the people around you, no matter who they are or where they came from. The contrast with the philosophy guiding the Trump administration couldn’t be more extreme. Vice President Vance has said that “it is totally reasonable and acceptable for American citizens to look at their next-door neighbors and say, ‘I want to live next to people who I have something in common with. I don’t want to live next to four families of strangers.’” Minnesotans are insisting that their neighbors are their neighbors whether they were born in Minneapolis or Mogadishu. That is, arguably, a deeply Christian philosophy, one apparently loathed by some of the most powerful Christians in America.

One thing I found deeply moving about resistance in the Twin Cities was the universalism of loving your neighbor, the philosophy driving the opposition to the ICE/BP invasion. ICE just murdered a U.S. citizen in broad daylight in the streets of Minneapolis. No reform, no funding, and sure as hell no praise. Abolish ICE, and hold these thugs accountable for their actions.

Fat jokes are unnecessary and harmful.

Since ICE was created under false pretenses regarding a supposed Muslim menace after 9/11, I consider it an invalid institution.

I consider their mission and methods to be evil. I stand against evil, as best as I can.

Trump destroys everything. As I saw his shit-eating grin holding the Nobel peace prize, I wondered if that prize has meaning anymore. Makes me wonder if Machado is in on the Trump violence against VE. So much for peace.

Go beyond. Stop funding ICE in perpetuity. It's an organization that shouldn't exist in the first place.

I didn't miss the point, and nor did my comment. Why waste time with any news source if it's POV it's highly questionable? Two propagandists don't equal a balance. I agree with the point, just not the means. My answer is to not trust any of them, which is admittedly unsatisfying.

Just went over to that site and not far down on the first page was an editorial referring to Taiwan as "China's Taiwan." Surely there are better sources out there that are not state mouthpieces.
