Priorities

Almost skipped facilitating at the aquarium today; my mood was so dark from this morning’s news.

Glad I did go in.
Really needed the distraction and a chance to interact with people, face-to-face, about #science.

Think they needed it, too.

Even before there was MAGA, I dealt with idjits who paid $20 to come into a science center, just to argue against the #science.

In every single instance, they wound up having a meltdown, then stormed off.

These people don’t want to learn.

They just want to win a fight.

#Antivaxxers telling me that scientists can’t be trusted bc they’re in the pocket of “Big Pharma”…

…then citing Joseph Mercola who quit medicine to get rich selling generic vitamins and getting paid to speak at #antivaxxer events.

Many of the Republicans who have been aiding, abetting and protecting him, have been in our House and our Senate long before Trump; re-elected numerous times by conservative voters who are so easily manipulated by fear, by hate and by Republicans’ pseudopatriot theatrics and christian cosplay.

Reading the 1st book is about the only way to make any sense out of the end of the movie.

Lies of omission are a favorite tactic of #science deniers.

With #ClimateChange, they will leave out “…if nothing is done” when they cite “scientists said…” to disparage them.

Whilst doing my “Germs” cart, at Pacific Science Center, I’d explain how cyanobacteria, being the 1st photosynthesizing organism, made it possible for lifeforms like us by releasing oxygen as a waste gas during food production.

In other words, I’d tell them, we owe our existence to germ farts.

Believe these nominations of hacks who are beyond unfit and unqualified are a mix of rewards for loyalty, a test of loyalty from Republicans, and as far as NIH and CDC, a means of punishment and payback against Dr Anthony Fauci.

These days, every decent person is in need of some.

Same at Pacific Science Center. I’d explain that they hiss to startle predators, but also when males are tryin’ to show who’s bigger and badder, in front of females.

I’d then comment to any women,”you ladies have seen this in bars. Same stuff, different species.”

Quite glad that never happened when I was handling one, or allowing guests to.
