#OnePlaceStudies - I finished this awhile ago, its a graph showing birth, marriage and death numbers. (Blue - Marriage, Green - Birth and Purple - Death)

I haven't had much time to put into it but I hope I will in the summer. What has everyone else been up to?

A graphic with a purple background features a stylized illustration of a historical figure in grayscale, facing right. In the upper left corner, a dark blue circle contains the text โ€œBEHIND THE SCENES MINISโ€ in bold white letters. Below the illustration, the text reads โ€œShots and Sidiโ€ in light gray. At the bottom right, the podcast title โ€œSTUFF YOU MISSED IN HISTORY CLASSโ€ appears in white and blue.

Chart showing amount to Births, Marriages, and deaths in Dzwonowa, Poland

My morning project. Eventually I will have the chart from 1803-1878 (the range at I have all three records). The two notable death spikes are in 1806 (smallpox) and 1812 (Tuberculosis). #OnePlaceStudy

In 1911, Nesen Bader was held at Ellis Island to determine if heโ€™d be a drain on US resources (โ€œLPCโ€). If so, heโ€™d be deported. Luckily, he got to stay & later had a child: Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
Donโ€™t shut immigrants out for not seeing the good they bring right away.

Image: Photo looking over the top of a drystone wall at the garden on higher ground on the other side, and the four bay, two-storey brick-built house beyond. The garden is mostly grass, with small trees and shrubs (all leafless as it is Winter), and lots of Snowdrops in flower close to the wall. Many of the large, flattish stones from which the wall is made are covered with green moss.

I meant to respond much earlier! Do you know what partition your ancestors came from, should say on most records either Austria, Russia or Prussia/Germany?

Question for Irish genealogist and historians, I was just reading an account of my 3rd great grandma who was a survivor of the Famine and she believed in Fairies, Iโ€™m wondering how common was such a belief for people of her era, particularly those near Cork.
