Trying to watch the #alayma livestream on airplane wifi is going terribly. Anyone know of a page with live updates of winners? I keep missing books when it lags.

My 4th and 5th grade classes come to the library maybe once a month, because they're so busy fitting in everything in their curriculum. It's so frustrating. If they don't get to school early enough to get books, they don't have the opportunity during the day.

Only 9 books until I hit my 2024 reading goal.

If it is out of print and not available through a local library or as an eBook, I would say it's okay.

Hitting a reading slump with 11 days left in the year and my reading goal 95.6% met is terrible timing.
I am not in the mood to read anything, but I am so close to a bucket list number that I can't give in.

Just finished the Heroes of Olympus series, which was one of my goals. The next is to get through volumes 2 and 3 of Hooky, so they can be back with students after the break.

My solution to the "problem" of kids only wanting to check out Dog Man was to get more Dog Man books.

They're always an option, so kids aren't so frantic to get their hands on them and are more likely to branch out. And, if they're not interested in anything else, Dog Man books are available.

The school librarian practice that is the most mind-boggling to me is librarians sending popular series on "vacation" so kids stop checking out Wimpy Kid, Dog Man, etc.
One librarian admitted to doing for FOUR MONTHS out of the school year.

Just had to ask my husband to talk me out of doing a 24 hour readathon, because I have no self control when my ADHD meds wear off for the day.
