Leading scorer from Bemidji High School commits to Bulldogs Bailey Rupp chose UMD after back-to-back seasons with more than 30 goals and 50 points for Bemidji High School. She'll play on Team USA with another future Bulldogs teammate and a Hermantown native.

UMD women landed the leading scorer from Bemidji High School, Bailey Rupp.

She'll play for the U.S. U18 Women's Select Team this week in a three-game series vs. Canada.

Joining her is future Bulldog Alaina Gnetz, and Hermantown's Taylee Manion.

Updated the projected rosters blog post with numbers. Everyone who was projected to be on the men's roster is here, though Bob Nygaard used to tell me it's never officially official until that first day of class. That's Aug. 25 this year.

It's important to remember that while some rising 11th-grade boys will be verbally committing as early as today, most future college hockey players are not. In fact, the average commitment age in NCAA Division I men’s hockey is 19.

Everyone has their own timeline!

Having the new recruiting cycle open on the same day as 'National Girlfriend Day' sucks because I'm trying to look through Instagram for commitments all day but I have to see a billion other posts about that instead 😅😂

Brad pointed this out on the other platform, but today is also the first day men and women can take their all-expenses paid college visits (now unlimited), so a lot won't be announcing their committment quite yet.

We saw it last year, kids are taking advantage of those visits.
