The filter can be activated through a dropdown in the Images tab, search settings, or by using a dedicated AI-free domain: noai.duckduckgo.com. The system relies on curated blocklists, including uBlockOrigin’s Huge AI Blocklist, to detect and suppress AI-generated imagery. While not perfect, it significantly reduces synthetic content visibility. This move sets DuckDuckGo apart from competitors like Google and Bing by giving users direct control over their exposure to AI-generated material. Source: TechCrunch

referenced off of Leyendecker's "Primping in the Mirror" piece — the vase and daffodils have been omitted, along with the top hat before the mirror. the background in the piece is all varied washes of red, still with shapes mimicking those in the original. replacing the man is OC Nepenthe, who is adjusting the cravat of the nondescript black clothes that form on his figure to mimic fabric. his hair is wildly floating sans gravity out behind him, and from his arms down black webbing flocks the reflection.

These days I do get some of that with my D&D campaign world building, but that's also not just my story or my characters. I used to have so many story and comic ideas, characters, little fanfic stories I wrote with friends. I want to find a way back to all that.

It's probably tied in with all the burnout I suffered after I graduated from the scam for profit art school I attended. I barely put marks on paper for almost a decade after.

Seeing all the Art Fight art makes me want to create some OCs so I can join in next year. But it also made me realize: when did I stop making characters and stories?

Being a creative in 2025 is like, okay, time to work: first, let’s have a good cry about all the cruelty we are powerless to stop in the world but not too long, don’t want to drown in despair and alright time to draw my silly little pictures now

i usually tell artists I work with that it's always easier to edit something that's there than something that isn't

creatives get it in their heads that standard for skill means getting it right on the first round and think backtracking is weakness, but backtracking is literally the process

Not to be unkind, but I am so impatient about the “what’s the point of making my little zines/comics/crafts/art when the world is on fire” sentiments. I get it, but saving the world is not a responsibility shouldered by your art! That’s what being a neighbor, a friend, and hell, a citizen is for!!!
