Many lichen species are sensitive to nitrogen pollution, making them natural indicators of air quality.

๐Ÿ“ฑLicheN is a new app enabling people to help monitor air quality using lichens. Data gathered will improve understanding of N pollution and its impacts on ecosystems.

A single frame from a trilobite walk cycle animation. Untextured 3D model.

I was chuffed that I managed to get the trilobite walking. Then the client asked if I could make it walk over a bump. Sounds simple, but technically a challenge. I had a sudden brainwave while chatting to a colleague, which (unexpectedly) worked. Single frame from the animation. #C4D #trilobite

The neat thing about the ultra-viral Czech beaver dam story is that itโ€™s just a particularly vivid example of what legions of unsung beavers do every day โ€” help us solve our environmental problems without our gratitude or acknowledgment, and in spite of our attempts to kill them! Beavers gonna beav.

The purist in me wants to add the gills, it's a massive amount of extra work getting them to also roll up, so the pragmatist in me says to leave them out because we are not showing them.

3D model of a trilobite rigged to demonstrate enrolment - eventually the model will be used in an animation. Getting all of the individual plates to overlap properly, and not pass through each other, was a major challenge. The next phase of the challenge is to get the legs in and get them walking for another animation.

This was a bigger challenge than expected (and I expected it to be tough). A walking and rolling 3D recreation of a trilobite. Getting all of the plates to interlock properly during enrolment took a couple of days fine tuning. Now to fit the rest of the parts and get them working.

I have just been re-editing my film from last year's trip through #CostaRica during the #GreenSeason. We were there because my wife was on a familiarisation trip, so I got a whole week to myself, then we met up for the second week to cover more ground.

Record number of Chough chicks fledge in Cornwall Cornwall's symbolic Chough has staged a dramatic comeback, with 70 breeding pairs raising 129 chicks in 2025 โ€“ the third year running that more than 100 fledglings have taken flight. Conservationists credit the daughter of the pioneering pair, who has now raised 48 young herself, for driving the recovery. With 70 breeding pairs compared with only five in 2013, the RSPB hails this as an

For the third consecutive year, more than 100 juvenile Choughs have successfully fledged in Cornwall, cementing the species' return from local extinction only two decades ago:

Sitting on Cley beach this morning and what I thought was a bird landed just behind me.
Soon realised it was in fact a bat. Was very mobile amongst the pebbles looking for food. After 2-3 mins it flew off.
Can anyone help with ID please?
Thank you.

This is one of 8 known flutes found on the Swabian Jura. The finds suggest that music played an important role in this region. ๐Ÿงต1/2
