This is no different from Putin saying MH17 was shot down by Ukraine or Assad saying rebels gassed themselves.

Jan ‘21 a neighbor tried tapping their maple trees as a COVID experiment, and needed helpers to keep up with the amount of sap they produced.
I sugared a bunch on an outdoor burner and the ratio of sap:syrup truly is incredible.
Facebook post by Boston Public Schools with images of high school students on safari. “Boston Latin School and Association students participated in a life-changing trip to Nairobi, Kenya last month during February Recess. Fourteen Boston Latin School students visited several learning sites, including Nairobi National Park, Amboseli National Park, Tsavo West National Park, and the southeastern city of Mombasa. Much more than a vacation, students also practiced their Swahili language skills, experienced cultural immersion through a visit with the Maasai people, and learned first-hand about environmental conservation. By encouraging students to partake in trips like these, we ensure learning extends beyond the classroom into the far reaches of the globe.
So, @bostonschools.boston.gov, how many students from any OTHER Boston Public Schools schools get to travel to Nairobi?
Just the ones with an $85M endowment?

BREAKING: DC Circuit, on a 2-1 vote, keeps in place a lower court order blocking DHS Sec. Noem’s effort to end Haiti temporary protected status designation.
Judges Pan and Garcia deny DOJ’s request to stay the district court order. Judge Walker would have granted it.
Haiti TPS is safe for now.

AI companies tell you every day that you are too stupid and helpless to think for yourself.
DOD “unshackled” strikes from the rules of engagement and AI suggested the targets.
Worth noting that SECDEF — KNOWING this — came out yesterday and gave a speech about raining death and destruction down from the sky with the aid of loosened rules of engagement. “Punching them when they’re down.”

I think one of the most staggering industry shifts in my 16 years as a tech reporter is that it’s not become a question of “should our product help the government kill and/or surveil people?” but “to what extent?”

The phone scammer with a fake rental listing is not far removed from the subprime auto lender or the private equity-owned hotel/apartment complex.
The hotel that locks up and sells the personal property of its tenants is not far removed from a petty thief.
I finished this last night, and it is a devastating if not necessarily surprising read.
Poverty and homelessness are defined by a ceaseless deluge of scams – some illegal, MANY legal – designed to extract maximum profit from those who can least afford it.

There are no giving criteria, need-based or otherwise. & it's not "parental choice." The entity exercising choice over use of public funds here is the org, not the family.

City Councillors Weber and Santana last August filed a “17F” request for information on all memoranda of understanding between federal agencies and the City of Boston, including ICE. BPD had ten days to respond. Six months later, Weber and Santana are still waiting.

There's been a lot of debate within the Democratic establishment about what rhetoric to use via ICE.
Well, an incumbent doesn't lose by 48 percentage points very often—and her vote on collaborating with ICE was the defining issue here.
All it takes to debunk the theory that thousands of kids were pushed into gender-affirming surgeries is to talk to literally any trans person who has tried to get gender-affirming care of ANY kind. It's extremely difficult.

We’ve spent the last 2 years “right-sizing” (closing) Boston Public Schools, because enrollment dropped.
Anyone think there will ever be an effort to “right-size” the BPD, given the low crime rates in the city?
