I’ve had to read a certain inaugural address multiple times today for research purposes (it is a perfect case study on resurgent American imperialism for my current research funding application..) and it makes me sick. I can only imagine how πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ folks in the US feel. Love and solidarity!

A horrific image of a someone who seems to have his hands tied behind his back. A big cat (the predator kind, not the overfed pet kind) has jumped up at him and is devouring his face. Blood splashes on the floor.

For Blue Monday we can't think of anything more appropriate than this charming depiction of a man getting his face eaten off by a leopard.

The past, as always, employed politically…what mirror are the stones holding up to this time round….? As archaeologists we should indeed be very careful not to provide fuel for such ideas
