Some may say a character needs to lose sometimes and I disagree I love it when my favorite character is on a winning streak. I'll accept them losing if it leads to homoerotic situations or them bleeding or both at once, preferably the latter

Its not fun if the character is incompetent but if they're competent and everyone around them is like "damn this person is magnetic" and "this person is weirdly efficient" then it's fun. It's fine if their personality is a little mild then because everyone else thinks they're a freak of competency

Sometimes it's just fun to have a protag who is deeply optimistic and driven and when told "you have two options" goes "what about this third one" and pulls total bullshit Perfect Hero shit out of their back pocket because they're Perfect and Competent. Like sometimes it's fun.
