That reflexive 'sorry' you can't stop saying was never about politeness β€” it was a survival strategy you learned before you had the language to name what was happening in your home.

A digital painting of four cats squeezed into square shapes, arranged in a grid. The cats all slightly break out of their squares and have various cheeky expressions. The cats are all colored mostly with red, cream, yellow, and blue. There are bright doodles of stars & squiggles over and around the cats. The Clip Studio Paint logo is in the bottom corner of the artwork.

Mmhm but then again thank god none of those people volunteer because that'd be even worse.

It would be far better if they just kept their mouths shut though

How you treat those under you is incredibly telling of; not only your management style but also how shitty you are as a person........

I got the nod/shoulder tap today.

If all goes well, I may be moving forward into the role of Senior Assistant Store Manager (1 step down from store manager 😊) & I'd oversee the other 2 current Assistant Store Managers.

This is despite me thinking I'm constantly doing the spinny at work 🀣

Two bunnies ride on the shell of an enormous snail, as it makes its way through a patch of mushrooms in the fall. The mushrooms and plants around them are also giant, so it's possible that the bunnies are just tiny and everything else is normal size

Science is not truth.
Science is finding the truth.

When science changes its opinion, it didn't lie to you. It learned more.

Aaaaah! So jealous!

A coworker from my store was there with a coworker from another store, and both were there for the concert tonight 😁

Also, we had a right good laugh at one point because my Fitbit notified me about exercise I was doing.

The exercise you ask......

SPINNING.......

Yes. We just spun. Mmhmm πŸ˜‚

I didn't go in with the intention of labelling my cuddle buddy/FWB thing beyond what it is.

I just wanted to know/set some additional boundaries/discuss stuff, which we did (in amazing detail too) but eventually our chat turned to that last night.

Anyway; I has a boyfriend now🫣 😏 πŸ₯΅

Post reads:
People with ADHD have what’s called Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD). It’s an extreme emotional response to perceived criticism or rejection.

Your brain can’t regulate the emotional pain, so a small comment feels like a devastating attack. A minor correction feels like total failure. Someone’s tone feels like hatred.
It’s not oversensitivity. It’s not being dramatic. Your brain literally can’t modulate the intensity of that emotional response.

It’s neurological, not a character flaw.

If you love someone with ADHD, understand that tone is a weapon you didn't know you were carrying. A short text or a sigh of frustration isn't just a moment of stress to them, it's a signal of impending exile. Your consistency and reassurance aren't coddling; they are the bridge that helps them cross the gap of their own neurological insecurity.

These were really good posts explaining Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria I had to pull over

On a personal level, this is one of my hardest things to deal with. Thankfully its not constant, and I've learned outward reactive regulation, but inside its still this, and sometimes the sad slips out >> 1/2

It's really good when folx understand this & can tailor how they interact with those that have this to help avoid or mitigate setting off RSD responses.

Unfortunately there are others that either choose not to or do not care enough to avoid triggering RSD in those that experience it.

Valentine's Day is one of those weird days for me.

My love language(s) are quite different to hubby's so we don't really do anything for the day but I did end up getting a flatbread from Zehr's & some yummy Choc Raspberry Gelato 🀣

My Spicy friend wished me a Happy Valentine's which was lovely 😊

Misgendering someone, even when they have done awful things, still isn't okay. I feel like this is going to be said repeatedly.
