During the pandemic I supervised my 1st @mountroyalu.bsky.social bioanth Honours student.
I'm proud to say the second paper based on this work was published in the AJBA!
This research answered a question I've had for a while - I hope it's also useful to others!

I had the chance to talk to the lovely Gaby, the @anthrobiology.bsky.social Podcast a few weeks ago!
Take a listen (see Spotify open.spotify.com/episode/4CW7... or the apple podcast link in the main post).
A lot of people will tell you we're a Roman Palace.
We are in fact a moon-sized super-weapon capable of destroying a planet.
(Better with sound).
Photograph of the skeleton of a small dog, the white bones laid out on a black background
Today's port from the old place to this lovely app is a thread 𧡠about my favorite ancient pet! The Yasmina Dog π
The scientific zooarchaeology study was made by Michael MacKinnon & Kyle Belanger
This story about this cute lil' dog is a sad one, with a (sort of) happy ending

New Publication Alert!
@dentalbioarch.bsky.social & I sent replica skeletons home with #osteology students then tested them to evaluate skills they obtained remotely vs. in person (compared to experts)
Spoiler: home access to replicas supports student learning, but fragments & methods are still hard
Ha! No way. Also, how do you remember that?!
