The Weird Route is basically supposed to be players seeing this line at the beginning and going "nuh uh I can make my own choices and a new ending just watch me!!" And fucking everything up to try and force Deltarune to be like Undertale.

Ehhh I mean its not the same as Undertale but the Weird Route is pretty explicitly about trying to force new content. Its just about "trying to make a new ending in a game that only has one" instead.
