Unlike the private sector, UP Housing developments would be designed and built to facilitate balanced communities, not to maximise profits!

Universal Public Housing, or #UPHousing for short, is the answer! This new system of housing would provide hundreds of thousands of families with the secure, affordable homes that the current system denies them.

They have chosen to put land speculators, property developers, bankers, estate agents, landlords and other profiteers in effective control of the housing sector, with predictably disastrous results.

We need to end this madness once and for all!

The successive governments of Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael, Labour and the Green Party have CHOSEN TO ABANDON their responsibility to directly provide housing to the people.

All the while, Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil say this legislation is part of a successful housing strategy! But of course they would say that wouldn’t they, after all they share a fanatical belief in the private sector and profit-driven market economics.

These families are now plunged into uncertainty as their landlord has taken full advantage of the government’s new housing rules which allow new tenancies to be set at “market rates” - at the expense of renters.

But the truth is he is the one who set the policy allowing this to happen in the first place. The only thing he won’t stand for is his own housing policies making him look bad! #HousingCrisis

After 36 eviction notices were handed out in his native county of Wexford, the Twenty-Six Counties’ Minister for Housing, James Browne, has said that he “won’t stand for it”.

The airport has effectively been used as forward operating base for the US military since 2002 - all sanctioned by Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil.
