I've been surprised a lot lately at how my almost-six-year-old picks up on context clues in stories now. We were watching If yesterday, and he recognized that the mom died without them saying it at all. Reading to him every day of his life has done something.

My fatal flaw is that I hate TV breakups so much that they usually ruin the entire series for me. And don't get me started on will they/won't they.

My husband and I discovered it during a staycation. They have a huge board game collection. There's a small cover charge that includes a non-alcoholic drink, but you can stay and play for however long you want. If you like a game, they'll give yo a discount to buy it at a local game store.

I read it in college and I don't think it would have captured my attention much as seventh grader (and I was the kid who read Shakespeare for fun).

I don't know why they decided to bring in the God Killer and never show him actually doing the god killing. Like, I get if you wanted to go with the off-screen horror inducing dread, but it did not work.

I love the book, but the movie had the pacing of a hamster on a hamster wheel with no escape.

I sometimes wonder if people saw a different movie than I did, because I don't know how they liked it after they fumbled the God Butcher so badly and refused to give any sincerity to the scenes that were supposed to be gut-wrenching.

I forgot how much I loathed Love and Thunder. I must have blocked it out of my memory. My husband and I got a sitter and were so excited to see it, then we raged over it for the rest of the evening.

When you start with the idea that no pedestrian death is acceptable, you're more likely to look at and try anything that could help (decreasing speed limits, making right turns on red illegal, etc.). You don't call it good enough when you've done the bare minimum.

Also, my comment about public transit was about what people would do when their licenses are taken away. Sorry if that wasn't clear!

I watched a video recently about why right turns are allowed on red in the U.S. and how it makes pedestrians unsafe. The rest of the world thinks it's ridiculous that we allow it. I've definitely been convinced.

You mean we would need public transit that works? 😲

In Pierce County they're working on an initiative to get to zero pedestrian deaths. Some council members voted against it because it "wasn't realistic." I just don't understand why the U.S. has decided we need pedestrian deaths and walkability isn't feasible.

We've been playing Catan Jr. a lot and my 5yo kept calling the lumber "Lincoln logs." Today I called them that and he said, "No, they're logs." 😭

I saw this on FB like the day after I sent my husband to Costco and asked him for a smoothie.
