Turning Point USA made a literal watch list of professors, primarily women, queer folks and people of color, and made us targets of political violence. I’ve received hate mail and harassment and death threats off and on for nearly a decade in part due to that man’s organization so 🤷🏽‍♀️

TODAY — An effort to override Mayor Brandon Johnson's veto of the "snap curfew" ordinance failed this afternoon in Chicago City Council.

34 votes were needed to override Johnson’s veto. Today's final vote count was 27-22.

The vote happened two hours into the meeting and there was no debate.

Rune was an amazing person and someone you both loved to see in your event and hated to see on the other side of the match notification. Words can't describe his contributions or his skill in the Mystery and Windjammers scene.

I will miss you.

I'm feeling crushed by this. His belief in me is a part of what made me who I am today. And in turn, I learned how to be a better community member from his attitude. I will do my part in surviving him through the perpetuation of his ideals, and treating others with the kindness he has demonstrated.

Its an understatement to say Rune's presence changed my life for the better and I hope every interaction we ever had together conveyed my endless gratitude to him for it.

It's been another quiet morning at Chicago's immigration court. We have not seen any feds on the premises. Activists are handing out flyers and chalking the sidewalks.

ICE hasn't returned to attempt any arrests since autonomous protesters established a constant presence here last Monday.

Big news! Bravo to the all who stood up for the rights of photographer Anthony Orendorff, arrested Thursday by LAPD.

Still haven't seen video. But prosecutors rejecting charges suggests LAPD held him in jail for 4 days just to punish him for taking photos in public.

ICE does not like being filmed.

We don't just mean a little bit. We mean they are *terrified* of it, hiding their faces from the camera like little kids.

This can mean that inviting ample press (including broadcast) to your action is as much of a tactic as any other.

We still don't have eyes on the court inside. One of our reporters who has periodically been checking up there was threatened by ICE agents. No vans have left the garage/protesters still being detained.
