Investigative journalism isn't dead yet. From Sheffield, UK
We’ve made this investigation free to read because so many people in Sheffield are affected by this story.
Our journalists have been knocking on doors for weeks and we’ve had to employ lawyers because of the legal threats made against us.
We can only do this kind of journalism with your support.
“How many hours a month do you work on your ‘newsletter’? What is your real job?”
When we asked Andrew Milne why he was sending 'very aggressive' letters to Sheffield leaseholders he threatened to take us to the High Court.
But the distress of those we spoke to meant we had to publish. Story 👇
“It broke my heart, that was my savings towards a new car,” one woman who paid Milne tens of thousands of pounds told us. “He has just wiped me out.”
Don't miss today's really important story in The Tribune
Tell us more? We have a sense but it's hard to know from over here *exactly* what's going on

25.07.2025 15:05 — 👍 4 🔁 7 💬 0 📌 0Turns out London buses really *are* getting slower
www.the-londoner.co.uk/bus-speed-to...
A chart showing slowing down buses by borough. Almost three quarters of London’s bus routes are now slower than they were a decade ago, according to our analysis of Transport for London data. Out of 748 active routes across Greater London, 555 (74%) have seen a drop in average speed since 2015. The 110 (which runs between Hounslow and Hammersmith) has slowed by almost 2.65 miles per hour over ten years.
You’re not imagining it - London buses are much slower than 10 years ago.

This is the biggest investigation we've taken on at The Tribune. Following a tip that staff had been overheard joking about "making WMD" we found the trail of documents that proved the university's AMRC is heavily involved in the nuclear warhead programme. Link here, full story coming at lunchtime

08.07.2025 14:31 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Only a small thing but I think it does say something about the trajectory of the Tory party that Boris Johnson used to boast about getting his hair "cut" in a Turkish barbershop (Bay Room, Angel) and now the populist politics he enabled sees Jenrick rail against them.
