I have JP FFT for ps1 but I haven't dared try that one yet 😅

If you want forced kana practice, I highly recommend gen 1/2 pokemon

Every single pokemon name is written in katakana and the dialogue uses a mix of hiragana and katakana.

I didn't understand much when I played it but i completely stopped getting stumped by similar looking kanas after that

That's awesome! I've heard great things about both wanikani and bunpro.

When I get comfortable enough with reading from Satori Reader I'm gonna take the plunge and join one of the JP uni player discords to try talking with people

That's one of my goals for next year

Im occasionally playing jrpgs in JP to see how much I can understand

FFVII I can understand for the most part but sometimes the vocab and grammar used is beyond me

Thankfully I've played it before so I can do things like recognize this guy that talks weird is drunk and see how JP expresses that

Haven't really made a post about my JP learning progress but I'm still practicing just about every day.

I'm doing a lot less vocab review these days and mostly just reading stories on Satori Reader and taking notes on stuff I am struggling to understand, which isn't well suited for posting.
