I'm not really sure what the takeaway here is - maybe just that even very smart people are still vulnerable to rhetoric. You are not immune to propaganda and all that.

Just something to be cognizant of - be curious, turn a question over, rotate it in your mind until you truly understand it.

Though I think playing pokemon & Xcom has conditioned me personally to see 90% success and say "ah, so essentially a 50% chance..." haha!

The prompt was something about like
If no, 80% survive
If yes, 50% chance of 100% survival; 50% chance of 50% survival

And basically just tweaking the verbage, using words like "save" vs "risk", can bisect a room full of young adults and have them yell at each other over a thought experiment, haha!

So, really interesting:
I had to give a presentation on this exact thing in college - I gave the whole class the same prompt on a slip of paper and asked them to vote yes or no, but each half of the class down the middle had a different phrasing
