Now, how will the next mayor help us inhabit a much much hotter New York City?
Thankfully, there are practical fixes that other cities have made. Here are a few:

3/ All this is more visible to me because Iβve recently been to several world cities, preparing and adapting to heat.
It doesnβt have to be this way.
There are many practical fixes possible. We are dangerously behind.
2/ There is little to no shade, neither awnings nor arcades to walk under, and very few shade trees. There are no green walls. There are no water stations, no misting stations. There is one park in a canyon of buildings, with young trees that donβt yet provide shade.
