This is so dangerous because the editorial board closes with a call for yet more tax cuts

The last time the Boston Globe editorial board successfully campaigned for a massive tax cut for the rich in 2023, huge cuts to social services almost immediately followed

I've been reading the Boston Globe for 40 years & don't know if I've read anything worse signed by the editorial board

America's Best States, per this report:

1. Wyoming
2. South Dakota
3. Alaska
4. Florida
and it goes on like that

Those are the states MA must throw away our values to emulate?

Hard to see how American life goes on as normal when our media, culture, & on & on is by & for the 0.01%. Our choices are increasingly no longer free market & consumer-driven, but happily operated at a loss by billionaires proving fealty to Republicans. And the opposition party doesn't seem to care.

Boston Globe: Since 2018, Golden has reliably held his district, which Trump has carried in all three elections, making him one of Democrats’ most tested and most valuable incumbents. That success is a big reason why he has never faced a serious primary challenger despite causing the party occasional heartburn in both Washington and back home.

Many national Democrats believe that Golden, with his unorthodox centrist politics and military background, is the only Democrat who can win his seat. Last year, he defeated Austin Theriault, a top GOP recruit, by fewer than 3,000 votes. Some party operatives were relieved when Golden decided to run for re-election in 2026 rather than run for the state’s open governor seat, or challenge Senator Susan Collins.

The Anti-Social Century Americans are now spending more time alone than ever. It’s changing our personalities, our politics, and even our relationship to reality.

This one of many reasons that 21st century liberalism should reorient itself around *places*, namely creating places that are actually pleasant to live in, with generous public spaces that bring people's physical bodies into proximity.
