I’ve always said that @nycschools.bsky.social should have a August/September birthday cut off date for entry to school. I have a Dec child and it was insane for a 3yr to be expected to be the same as children turning 5.

Reading was my daily escape living in Public Housing in NYC. I could solve crimes like Nancy Drew or babysit in the Babysitters Club.
When my oldest struggled to read 18 yrs ago, it was painful to watch. 3 kids later all 4 w/dyslexic, no one captures the trauma like this podcast.
There’s a reason why Puerto Rico is La Isa del Encanto. While my mother left the island during the migration, going back for vacation or travel since I was little was always grounding. Nothing has changed since then.
