The HDF effect, "high diffusion filter" is pretty slick, and most significantly, it can be EASILY turned on/off.

With its 40mm angle of view, the #RicohGR3XHDF is great for #streetphotography or for taking a hike - basically, I guess I'm saying this camera is fun for GETTING OUT INTO THE WORLD AND MOVING YER BODY!

The #RIcohGRiiiXHDF is a sorta "undercover" camera...a tiny but powerful and so darn capable image-making machine!

Too, take note that it IS a 2.8 max. aperture lens, but the closer you focus, the more the lens - automatically- stops down, to f5.6 at 1:1, if I remember right. This is NORMAL.
It's such a dang nice lens - for closeups and for #PortraitPhotography!

Tamron has been making a version of this close-up lens for over forty-five years!
Shoot it wide-open or stopped-down, you're gonna get good performance! :)

And, to casual observation, both teleconverters seemed to be plenty sharp enough!

Got an interesting pair of TAMRON 1.4x TELECONVERTERS in Used right now - one is only $30, one is $315. Yes, the III is much newer, but both seemed to focus the 70-200/2.8 G2 lens just fine.
With the III, the camera DID register that a teleconverter was attached, where the older one didn't.
