DOGE is perhaps the greatest threat we have ever faced in our Democracy! Musk is seizing unbridled power. Where are the systems of restraint that protect our personal freedoms? What I’d love right now is some creative conversation of how we can disrupt, resist, and overcome.

I let her know that I am, and will continue to be OK. And I let her know that my wish for her was to be at peace. I’m told she physically softened as she listened to me and that a smile fell across her face again.

Yesterday, I was put on speaker phone with her. She didn’t say anything to me, but I know she could hear me. I told her how much I loved her and thanked her for all that she has given me in life.

Last week, I spent several days with her sharing memories and showing my appreciation for all she gave me. I played some of her favorite music and danced for her. I made her smile in the presence of the reality she was facing.

She was also my teacher—giving me my love for cooking and my love of language that led me toward writing. Even when life dealt her some blows that took so much of her own freedom away, she showed up for me in this way.

Growing up, Mom often told me, “You can do anything and be anyone you want in life.” She always cheered me on in whatever I pursued. She fueled my creativity and nurtured my curiosity.

This morning just before 1:30 AM, my Mom took her last breath. I’m of course sad about her passing, yet grateful to know she is no longer suffering. I will hold the memory of her close in my heart. She will forever be an integral part of who I am.

Love it!! Does the data download include comments as well or is that lost information since it is technically part of other accounts? For most of my posts, it’s fine to leave it on the floor… though I can think of a few where it would be nice to archive.

I stumbled upon this quote again today. It leaves me thinking about the challenging road ahead. One that along which we will clearly be faced with great adversity. I can not predict exactly how we will navigate it. I’m reminded, however, that there is a fierce fighter in me that will persevere.
