This is very good.

β€œMen like Epstein seek to control women through what social scientists call direct reciprocity. In cases of power imbalance, what seems like generosity is a strategy to narrow a person’s life by providing, controlling, and expecting compliance in return.”

Is Convicted Felon Donald Trump’s super-duper secure SCIF with soft banquet-hall curtains, open air top, unsecured electronic devices, and roving guests located next to the bathroom where the classified documents are stored?

Iran Things that Got Memory Holed, Including the So-Called Negotiators, Steve and Jared - emptywheel There are a number of facts about Iran that are being memory holed by significant swaths of the public. There’s the fact that Iran’s conflict with the west doesn’t just go back 47 years, to 1979, when...

if the media had any integrity β€” and it doesn’t anymore β€” they’d be pointing out on a loop that Obama made a deal with Iran, Trump cancelled it because Obama is Black, and then Trump started a war on the pretense there is no deal

"How can you oppose war when Khamenei was evil?"

Simple. If you killed Donald Trump by nuking Washington DC, I would not mourn Trump but I'd still say you're an evil war criminal who belongs in the Hague. It's really not hard.

OCASIO-CORTEZ STATEMENT ON
TRUMP'S COMBAT OPERATIONS IN IRAN
"The American people are once again dragged into a war they did not want by a president who does not care about the long-term consequences of his actions. This war is unlawful. It is unnecessary. And it will be catastrophic.

"Just this week, Iran and the United States were negotiating key measures that could have staved off war. The President walked away from these discussions and chose war instead.President Trump flippantly acknowledged the possibility of American casualties, stating "that often happens in war.'

"Mr. President: this was not an inevitability. This is a deliberate choice of aggression when diplomacy and security were within reach. Stop lying to the American people.

"Violence begets violence. We learned this lesson in Iraq. We learned this lesson in Afghanistan. And we are about to learn it again in Iran. Bombs have yet to create enduring democracies in the region and this will be no different.

"In moments of war, our Constitution is unambiguous: Congress authorizes war. The President does not. I will do my part to uphold our Constitution by voting YES on Representatives Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie's War Powers Resolution. Every member of Congress must join us in rejecting this aimless war.

Today’s military strikes on Iran β€” carried out by the United States and Israel β€” mark a catastrophic escalation in an illegal war of aggression. Bombing cities. Killing civilians. Opening a new theater of war.

It’s insane this is legal. People around Trump are profiting off war and death. I’m introducing legislation ASAP to ban this.

CAPTCHAs are getting scary these days.

You think you got all the motorcycles? Ha. They replenish like a hydra. You keep clicking, clicking. Suddenly you hear your grandkids calling: "grandma come play with us." You realize you’ve been trying to buy tickets for a concert that happened 65 years ago.

I think the bigger security risk is the gestapo she runs that murders people for standing in the street and kidnaps children to put them in concentration camps. But sure, if the shoe thing gets her shitcanned, do what you gotta do.

Once again, in actual democracies, people do not need to engage in permanent litigation & political mobilization to retain the basic right to vote, because none of the major political parties make restricting suffrage the central pillar of their policy platform. We also don't have to live like this.
