It’s gotcha day to my baby cat Killian, Kiki for short so here she is today. I’m obsessed with her, and she is perfect. I can’t believe I’ve had her for three years. I had no idea what loyal and devoted animals cats could be until I met her. She’s made my life better every day she’s been around.

Me in a bikini! It is a soft coral-orange in color with an almost fishnet texture. It is a triangular halter top that ties around the neck and behind the back and matching bottoms that tie on the sides. This is a selfie take. From a high angle which shows me from my head to about my hips. My hair is shoulder length and copper red. I have large brown eyes and am smiling. I have a really nice smile because my parents made me wear braces for years, like all of middle school, and even though it sucked I’m grateful cause I got crazy good teeth out of it. I’m standing in my Cape May house bedroom in front of my massive California king bed I got to sleep on. Some nights I had company and some I got to starfish on their all by myself-it’s so big you can spread all the way out.

The sunset at Cape May Point as seen from my favorite spot out on the jetty, which is a huge pile of moss covered rocks that juts out from the beach into the ocean. The sun is in the far distance and the sky is orange fading to blue above with a lavender purple-grey haze on the horizon. In the foreground are some of said large green moss covered rocks and in the middle is ocean out to the horizon. It is very still and calm with almost no waves at all like a giant lake with a light breeze.

The latest update of my hand painting which I’ve been working on for a year now on and off. It is of a hand made of space dust and stars with colors and light bursting out of it in many directions like tentacles. The hand is primarily shades of orange with pale blue and white light where the veins would be. A glow emanates from the hand. Along the lifeline of the palm the light bursts out of the hand into multiple streams, shooting off upwards and spreading out. They are many colored-some green, yellow, orange, shades of pink, blue, teal and lavender and full of stars. In the background is black outer space with white stars.

Finished our vacation and it was just what I needed. I made it up to the beach, watched the sunset in my favorite spot on the jetty, and finally have this painting almost finished. I’m in the final details now, I can feel it! Excellent week with wonderful friends and partners.

My painting in progress. Today it was extremely hot so I’ve been having a paint and rest day. I’ve basically been living in maxi dresses this summer cause they’re nice and cool and you basically chuck it over your head and you’re done!

A quick sketch based on our beach trip a few years ago. @aberloony’s dog Castiel the mini Australian Shepherd is in the foreground barking joyously and trying to play. Magnus the long haired dachshund behind him looks extremely concerned. His ears fly up in distress and he looks very worried. This is also based on a real happening. Quick vague sketchy lines indicate a shoreline for the beach, some previously made tracks that suggest the two dogs or other people have been running around and in the distance on the horizon, a row of bushes and a rough outline of a sign indicates the dunes. Text at the bottom reads “Best Friends at the beach.”

Vacation time at Cape May is a highlight of every year for me. I have my art stuff, I have a ton of books to read, and I’m excited to have an amazing relaxing time with people I love.

It's my birthday, and I have remembered Bluesky exists, so here's a fun fact about me. I was a leash child growing up. I was that kid that my mom literally had to tie to herself because if not, I'd disappear, and later, be found climbing something I wasn't supposed to.

Thanks, it's going. My only regret to speak of is I should have taken more time off, at least a full week, because 5 days total was not enough. I tried to go back to working (from home) for two days and was very unproductive, and now I'm taking a half day cause it wiped me out.

My bed is in the background which I crashed into immediately after this.

My dumb ass took a NotPreg post-sterilization selfie because the bloating was no joke, but it's getting better now. Besides getting hit with waves of exhaustion and some cramps, I'm feeling a lot better a week out from it. The incisions are super tiny and already healing. I have zero regrets.

Bisalp success! Got through it with no complications. The surgeon and anesthesiologist and really the whole team were so kind and took great care of me. Went home, ate taco bell, took a nap, and hanging out with my cat in bed.

Thanks! I am set for arrival at 5:30AM tomorrow! I think I might be the first of the day. I'm glad I'll probably be too sleepy to worry much

Thanks, it was an adventure. Doc was clear she didn't want to approve, also because I'm child free, despite the cancer risk to me, but I sat through it and kept insisting, and she ultimately ok'd it. It was ridiculous, but I'm just glad it got approved. Luckily, someone else is doing the surgery.

Counting down two more days until I get my tubes out. Did you know fallopian tube removal is not just permanent BC- ovarian cancer risk is reduced by as much as 80%? As a person who is childfree with ovarian cancer running in my family, I'm so excited to have that stress off my mind.

Today I was cat bombed. Kiki decided I was in bed too long so she slid under the door (there's a gap under it) and pounced me to wake me up. This is new. We will see if it continues.
