Panel 3: Cthulhu points at him angrily and says "NUH UH!" Panel 4: They're playing a fighting game in Shen's living room. But idk, I don't wanna sound like I'm defending this game more than I need to, and again, it's just speculation

But in short, he made the interpretation that ending isn't a good ending at all, representing Alex falling into his selfish delusions instead of facing the danger ahead. And with how this new update portrays him, it sounds like a fair interpretation imo

You know what, I think that's fair, especially since that ending feels very out of place from the rest of the game

And while I do remember a video bringing up an interesting interpretation of that ending, they label that as just wild speculation, so I can't be too sure if it's a good talking point

Now, I'm not gonna say if the execution of this was good or bad, nor am I saying you should like these things just because there's purpose behind them

I'm just saying this is how I've viewed things during my playthrough

I can somewhat understand why the story does these things, specifically as a criticism of how people act towards mysteries and urban legends, especially regarding those they don't know.

The update also adds new context, allowing the story to be viewed in a new light, as far as I can tell.

Well... unfortunately the story itself remains the same which in turn means it also includes these more uncomfortable subjects

However, I don't think they necessarily need to remove these things. As someone that is trying to better understand YIIKs story to some degree...

I can certainly tell they worked hard in this update, and while it's not perfect, I think they did a commendable job

Ngl, I have a bit of shame for admitting this, but I've actually been enjoying my time with this game for the most part. Don't get me wrong, it's not perfect, but I haven't experienced anything that made me hate this game as a whole
